Trading and transaction structure
We bring buyers and sellers together and set the terms that make a transaction across borders work.
What we do in a trade
Buying and selling across continents involves more than agreeing a price. Both sides need to know who carries the cost and the risk at each stage of the journey.
Nexus Trade + Flow brings the two sides together, checks who is on the other side of the table, and sets out the terms in writing. We then coordinate the documents that customs authorities and banks require.
Scope
Where we take part
- Matching We bring together buyers and sellers of goods and machinery in international trade.
- Counterparty and origin checks We look into who we are dealing with and trace where the goods come from.
- Transaction structure Delivery terms under Incoterms 2020, payment terms, dates and the responsibilities on both sides.
- Documentation Commercial invoice, packing list, proof of origin, bill of lading or waybill, and insurance certificate.
- Project development From the first enquiry through offer and contract to delivery and acceptance.
How transactions are financed
International trade transactions are usually secured through banking instruments rather than direct payment. Nexus Trade + Flow structures the transaction, agrees the payment terms with both sides and coordinates the documents the banks require — letters of credit, documentary collections or advance payment guarantees, among others. The financing itself is provided by the bank or the specialised trade finance provider involved in the transaction.
Nexus Trade + Flow does not grant loans and does not act as a lender.
